How's everything going? I'm writing to tell you about an exciting event in Shenzhen called Shenzhen Reading Month. 

A game called "Black Myth: Wukong" has recently become a hot topic world wide.Since the official release(发行)of the game, over 18 million players  (pay)for it.

Based on a Chinese classic novel. Journey to the West, the game allows people to experience Chinese traditional culture in addition to the fun and joy of  (play) the game. Wukong. or Monkey King. is the main character in book. The story is about series of  (adventure) of a monk(和尚) and known for his supernatural abilities and courage.

Black Myth is receiving a lot of praise for its artistic design and cultural influence. The game is  attractive that players can't wait to learn more about Chinese culture. As a result, the interest ancient Chinese literature has also increased among young people. Even those who were not fans of Chinese classics before may feel encouraged (read)the book.

In fact, games or movies rich in cultural elements(元素) can  (consider) as a type of cultural exchange. Playing the game could be a journey to experience the (beautiful) of Chinese culture- its music, landscapes, buildings, or even clothing.

Traditional culture is right there, waiting to be discovered. What we can do is to give people a  (close) look with better technology and more creative ideas.

Probably you grew up with a stop-snacking mom. That is a mom who tells her kids that snacks are bad They will make you fat and hurt your teeth. 

Well, Mom may be right about most things.  There is actually an acceptable way to snack for better health The following tips help you to snack the right way.

Make your own snacks. 

Most of those snacks have too much sugar and salt in them. Instead, fresh home-made snacks may be a healthier choice. The right snacks can keep you from eating too much at dinner and keep you from getting fat.

Eat things that offer you enough energy.

Things like bread and crackers are processed(消化) quickly by your body. If you are truly a big fan of bread, how about having some cheese to go along with it, and you'll get a winning snack.

Be careful of your hunger signals. 

But you might not really be hungry at all. Your body might just be telling you to take a rest. Have some water before you pull out a snack. That might be all you really need.

With one or two snack breaks during the day. you will probably find that you eat less at lunch and dinner. And eating less is a great way to start losing weight. Sorry about that, Mom. 

Beijing's Central Axis(中轴线) has begun a new chapter as it is now part of the UNESCO World Heritage List(联合国世界遗产名录), marking China's 56th site. The Central Axis is a centuries-old example of Chinese city planning and architecture(建筑)

Running 7.8 kilometers north to south through the heart of Beijing. the new World Heritage Site is made up of 15 buildings. At the northern end of the axis are the Bell Tower and Drum Tower. It then goes south through many places of interest including the Forbidden City and the Tiananmen Square, ending at the Yongdingmen Gate.

Building of the Central Axis began in the 13th century and was completed in the 16th century. It has been improved continuously for many centuries and still has influence on Beijing's city development to this day Between 2020 and 2023, an action plan for protection of the axis was put into practice. Various efforts include repair, research, improvement of the environment, and activities of the public.

The World Heritage officials stated that the Central Axis in Beijing meets the World Heritage List Requirements No 3 and No 4: It shows special values of a culture and is a great example of a building, design, or landscape(景观)that keeps important moments in human history. Ernesto Ottone, one of UNESCO's directors. said that Beijing's urban planning draws inspiration from Confucian thoughts and values This style of city planning can be dated back to Kaogongji from the Confucian classic Rites of Zhou(《周礼》)that was written more than 2.000 years ago.

China will continue making efforts to protect heritage buildings. encourage public participation, and wisely guide tourism development. A community with a shared future for mankind is developing along the Central Axis.

If you didn't know my father well, you might think that he was a serious man. But he wasn't. He was actually a wildly funny person What made him appear so serious was the fact that he never smiled with his mouth. He did it all with his eyes. And you could see a tiny golden light dancing in the middle of each eye.

My father was not what you would call an educated man and I doubt if he had read twenty books in his life. But he was a talented story-teller. He used to make up a bedtime story for me every single night, and the best ones were turned into serials(续集).

One of them was about an enormous man called BiGi. He was three times as tall as an ordinary man and his hands looked like bike wheels.

"BiGi lives in an underground cave and has a factory where he makes magic powder (粉末) that out of the dreams that children make when they are asleep," my father's stories continued. "he then carries the powder and blows it through a child's window and the powder floats around the room…and the child breathes it in…"

"And then what?" I asked.

"And then. Danny. the child begins to have a fantastic dream and when the dream reaches its most fantastic moment.. then the magic powder really takes over….and suddenly the dream is not a dream any longer but a real happening" 

Once I fell asleep as my father had hoped. he would kiss me good night and turned down the lamp. I could feel the love in his smiling eyes as I started my dream.

Scientists once did an interesting study. They put a mother in one place. They put her two-year-old child in another place. There was a telephone line between them. Soon, the mother and child were talking to each other. The mother and child, in this science study. were dolphins.

Dolphins are interesting animals. Many types of dolphins live in large ties. They have many different relationships and need a good communication system That explains why they need to speak up.

Scientists have known for a long time that animals can "talk" with each other. But dolphins have a special way of talking When they are in a group, they mainly use different sounds to express purposes. Scientists believe that the dolphins really are talking. However, they don't know what exactly the dolphins are saying.

Recently at Kewalo University in Hawaii, researchers have had some amazing results. Not only do the dolphins understand the meaning of human words, they also understand the importance of word order. For example, when they were asked to "touch the ball with your tail and then jump over it", they could perform the actions in the correct order.

Dolphins use body language, too. They "tell" something to another dolphin by moving their body in a special way. They also do it by opening and closing their mouths quickly.

Scientists hope to understand more about the dolphin language. They still have a lot to find out about these animals and so there are certain to be a few surprises in the future.

Lee loved tennis. He got a few old tennis balls and an old racquet(球拍)from his grandfather, who used to play tennis a long time ago.

Lee hoped that he would become an Olympies1 one day.

This message (write) on a sanitary bag of a high-speed train by a college girl. The next day, a passenger in the same seat discovered the message.  passenger posted it online with a reply, "How (luck) we are to meet across time and space! I hope you can do well in the interview (面试). I wish you all the best." This communication  (catch) people's attention and touched their hearts. 

Under the post, people shared their views, and many college students also expressed their  (feel) about school interviews. Later, the college girl  left the message on the sanitary bag read the post and shared why she did it. She wrote her thoughts on the bag  she was nervous on her way to an important school interview. The good thing is that she has been admitted (录取) to her dream school. And she thanked the stranger for his encouragement (polite) and hoped other students could go to their dream schools, too. "If the sanitary bags  messages are intact (完好无损的) and clean, we won't replace them." said one of the staff, "We hope these special notes on sanitary bags can brighten  (passenger) journeys."

Emily was preparing for her school's International Day, where each student had to present their country's traditions. Though she had plenty of (知识) about her culture, public speaking made her nervous. To (避免) making mistakes, she practiced her speech at home and (重复) it over and over until she felt confident.

My life at school is always wonderful. In the  grade, my school life becomes more exciting.  all the subjects I study, science is my favourite. We learned about a great invention that changed the way people travelled. In history classes, we talked about how cities grew and how  people moved to them for work. After class, the  school takes part in different activities. Some students play sports, while others enjoy  meetings in clubs. The school offers us lots of new chances to have great fun.

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a group of people who were known for their complaining(抱怨). They met at the town 1 every day, and their talks were always sad and negative (消极的). It seemed like 2 could ever change their minds or lift their spirits.

Peter: Kids need homework. When they learn something new in school, reviewing it at home helps them remember it. . It tells them how much students are paying attention in class and who needs more help.

Olivia: Giving students homework is a bad idea.  . They can do activities that build a healthy mind and body. Homework just causes stress. And stressed students do poor homework. That is worse than doing none at all. If students are working hard in class, they do not need the extra work.

Jack: I think kids need homework. But the amount should vary by age. At my school, primary students get homework. But it is not too much. For example, we might have to learn spelling words at home. Then we will take a test in class. We do most of our learning in class. For some homework, we have to hand it in. . We get a special prize for doing it.

Wendy: Homework is pointless. Kids already spend six hours a day in school. Homework just makes them repeat what they've been doing all day. What's more, homework takes time away from activities like team sports, hobbies, and playing.  . They keep kids active.

My name is Henry Adams. When I was 27, I worked in New York. One Saturday afternoon, I sailed my small boat, but a strong wind pushed me into the Pacific Ocean. Luckily, a British ship going to London saved me.

I had only one dollar when I got to London. I was tired and hungry. Then, a man from a nearby house called me inside. I went into a nice room where two old men were talking. The two men were brothers. They had been arguing (争吵) for days about something strange. One brother said, "If an honest and smart stranger comes to London with no friends or money, with only a £1,000,000 bank note, he will die from hunger. If he tries to change this big note at the bank, the police will think he stole it and arrest (逮捕) him." The other brother disagreed.

The two men decided to solve their argument with a bet. They chose me because I looked honest and clever. Also, I was new to England. One of them gave me an envelope (信封) and told me not to open it until I was in my hotel room.

After leaving the house, I opened the envelope and saw money inside! I rushed to the nearest restaurant. After eating, I tried to pay with the money but found out it was a one million pound note! It made my head swim. No one could cash (兑现金) it. The restaurant owner said, "You can pay whenever you want, sir. I know you are a rich gentleman playing jokes by dressing like a poor man."

I quickly went back to the house but was told they had left for a trip. Then I remembered the letter in the envelope. It said, "In this envelope, you will find some money. It is yours for only 30 days. At the end of that time, return to this house. We have a bet on you." How strange! Then, I went to a clothes shop to buy a cheap suit. When I showed the shop owner the bank note, he got angry because the salesman (销售员) sold me such a bad suit.
