One day in class, the teacher held up  apple, stood in the front of the class and said, "Please smell the smell in the air!"

After serving as a doctor in the village for over 50 years, Ma Wenfang, who is from a village of Henan Province, still likes people calling him a"barefoot（赤脚的）doctor".

"Back in the 1950s and 1960s, there was no doctor in our village," Ma said. Ma's mother died of typhoid（伤寒）at the age of 32 in 

1961. His younger brother also died of the same disease in less than two months.10-year-old Ma saw his family die; he made up his mind to become a doctor.

After finishing his studies in middle school in 1967, Ma started to have medical training as a barefoot doctor. He learned both Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. Finally, Ma won the villagers' trust through his hard work. In the 1960s, malaria（疟疾）made many people lose their lives and people had no idea how to control. Ma visited his village's families one by one to tell them about malaria. If someone was not at home, Ma would go out to look for him or her. When some villagers refused to take the medicine, Ma would persuade（说服）them into accepting it. In the 1990s, Ma said he had more than150 patients a day at the busiest time. At that time, he could make some money. After saving some of the money for his family, Ma used the rest to help poor villagers.

Now people live a better life and they want better medical services. And Ma still tries his best to help the villagers.

Donna Ashlock, a girl from California, was very sick. She had a bad heart. "Donna needs a new heart, " her doctor said. "She must have a new heart, or she will die soon. "

Almost all children expect their parents to give them more pocket money. But most of the time,their parents just give them a certain amount（数量）. And the amount of money that children get from their parents is different from family to family. The frequency（频率）of getting money is different, too.Some children get pocket money every week. Others get pocket money every month. Do you know why?

Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining

When Emma woke up, she found it was raining heavily outside. But she needed to brave the storm to work. After breakfast, Emma rushed out into the pouring rain.

As she walked, she fought1 the terrible weather. Emma's umbrella was almost useless as it was raining cats and dogs.2 , the wind blew it inside out. She was immediately3 from head to foot.She said to herself, "What a day to forget my rain boots!"

Zibo is called "the home of soccer balls". It's the birthplace of the ancient (古老的) Chinese sport of cuju. In 2004, cuju (win) the recognition (认可) of FIFA – soccer's governing body (管理机构) – as the earliest form of soccer. 

Li Weipeng, from Linzi district of Zibo city, is  seventh-generation inheritor (传承人) of cuju. He practices cujuskills  eighteen years. 

It is not easy (get) good at different cuju skills . "At the beginning, I spent eight hours a day practicing juggling (颠) a ball. It was tiring,  I didn't give up. " Li told China Daily. Hard work is the key to success. He now can juggle a ball with his foot over 10,000 times (easy) in a row. 

The traditional Chinese sport cujuis now popular at primary and middle schools in Linzi and (it) moves(动作) have become dances and morning exercises. Li is one of the (teacher) to teach students cuju moves. 

"Students show great interest in (play) cuju. It  (encourage) me to promote (推广) the ancient sport," Li told China Daily. 

Tim stood at the edge of the forest and thought about which way is a good 

（选择）He heard many stories about this amazing place. The forest looked mysterious（种秘的）in the early morning sunlight.

As he walked, the fog grew thicker. He even (跌落) into a river. But he didn't stop u he came to a beautiful place. The flowers were bright and colourful, and the trees waved in the wind. 

Tim smiled and thought, "This is the m beautiful place in the world!" He couldn't wait to share his (经历)with his brother Tom.
