Today, we are talking about money. I can share a bit about my history with money and my new view when it comes to using green paper.

I made a web page with links to posts about our financial (财政的) journey where you can look for more details of where we've been and how we got where we are now. It was a big part of my story in the past and was a huge part of our downsizing（精简） journey. We got out of debt and stayed out of debt.

So I feel eager（渴望的）to share the benefits of being on this side. It takes more planning and more careful thought whenever a dollar is spent now than it did when I had a wallet full of credit cards. I now like to think all of my dollars doing the job. So many of us work for money and don't consider that money should work for us, too. Make your dollars do the job of helping you live the life you want.

Each time money is spent or saved, it should be going toward something that you purposefully want for your life. Last week I was out and I spent $ 20 on food in 3 days. It made me angry because afterward I thought about eating is not at all what I want for my life.

On the other hand, there are times I spend $ 20 while out with my family and it doesn't bother（使烦恼）me one bit. An afternoon out with my kids during which we stop for ice cream, and do something fun together has a completely different feel.

In the end, I want the dollars I spend to have purpose like I can enjoy life while still planning and saving for the future.

Alice was born with a strange disease（疾病）. She was taken to many hospitals. None of the (doctor) knew why she got the disease. They told her parents she would go blind and deaf. 

Now Alice is fifteen years old. She canˈt see or hear (clear). But she is a bright and happy girl. She says to  (she), "Whatever happens, I will never give up. " She(hope) to enjoy her life. With her (parent) help, she is traveling as much she can. She is also sharing the interesting things she experienced along the way. 

She also wants (help) people like her. Her dream is to help researchers find a treatment（疗法）for her disease. If she can get well, people who have same disease may also be cured（治愈）. In fact, she has raised money a foundation（基金会）fighting the disease since she was in Grade Two. Until now, she has raised over $150, 000!

Alice thinks helping others can make her (happy) than having fun alone. She is doing her best to live her life. 

It's quite useful to get some first aid knowledge in life. When you meet someone who is(生病的) or hurt, you can give him some help. Now let's learn about the three Cs of first aid. 

Check    You should check both the (状况) and the person. First, ask yourself: What's the(问题；事情)? Is there anything that might put you in danger? Then check the person. Can he hear you? Does he lose (血)? Does he have (问题；苦恼) in breathing? Is there anything in his (喉咙)?

Call    Making quick and right 决定) is quite important because it could mean life or（死亡). If dangers stop you getting near the person, you should call for help right away. If you are the only person there, call an ambulance(救护车). Get someone else to make the call if there are other people. Then you can move on to the care help. 

Care  Look after the person before doctors and (护士) come. Don't let the pain break his(意志). Tell the person that help is on the way and everything will be all right.

"Health" eating well, relaxing well and doing some kinds of sports. 

You can only get what your needs by eating all kinds of food. That is to say, you should have a balanced(均衡的) diet(饮食). 

Of course, you should rest well. If you don't get enough sleep, you may get tired and even sick. 

What's more, you should do exercise. You can go swimming, go skating or go climbing. Do you like climbing? I'm a great . If you are interested in climbing, we can do it together. 

Many students suffer from stress in their daily lives. They are under stress because their lives are not balanced. They focus too much on studying, dealing with peer pressure and worrying about what others think, and not enough on other things. If you want to live a long and healthy life, you need to begin to guard against stress from a young age. Here are some ways to deal with stress and bring balance to your life:

One way to cancel out stress is through positive thinking. You should always look on the bright side of life, and imagine that you will have a happy and successful future. 

 Force yourself to take a break from your studies and worries about exams. You can do this by taking a walk, reading a book, going to a concert or seeing a film, or just sitting in a private place and being silent for a moment. 

Learn to paint, take up skating, or start playing a musical instrument. When you are busy with a hobby, you leave all your worries behind. 

Stress is your body's enemy. Taking regular exercise, eating a healthy diet and getting enough sleep are all the things that can help you.

On the afternoon of March 23rd, 2022, taikonauts（中国宇航员）gave a science lesson 400 kilometers above Earth. It was successful. Do you still remember the first space lesson by Wang Yaping in 2013? Helped by the other two taikonauts, she gave the lesson to more than 60 million school children all over the country. 

While watching the science lesson from the Tiangong-1 on the morning of June 20th, 2013, Wang Lutian, a 10-year-old disabled student at a special school in downtown Beijing, was drawing a colorful rocket with crayons（蜡笔）in his classroom. "Moon. . . stars. . . a rocket to the sky, " Wang told others his work in a happy voice. At that time, he and more than 100 other disabled students were enjoying the lesson given by Wang Yaping, who talked about movements in micro-gravity（微重力）environments. "Zero gravity!" Qian Shaohong, another student at the school, shouted when he saw taikonaut Nie Haisheng making a show of crossing his legs in mid-air. "Science has helped open a window for the children to know about the world, " said Zhang Yini, a teacher at the school. 

Thanks to the lesson, teenagers living on the "roof（屋脊）of the world" are also interested in space science more. "I was most interested in the presentation of the ‘water ballˈ in a gravity-free environment. Itˈs really wonderful, " said Rigzin Jigme Doje, a high school student in Lhasa, Xizang. Seeing himself as a lover of physics, Doje said the lesson helped him stay true to his dream of becoming a physicist. 

The lesson also encouraged（鼓励）other school children in Xizang to relate the mysterious（神秘的）world of outer space to their hometown. 

In choosing a friend, one should be very careful. A good friend can help you study. You can have fun together and make each other happy. Sometimes you will meet fair-weather friends. They will be with you as long as you have money or luck, but when you are down, they will run away. How do I know when I have found a good friend? I look for certain qualities of character, especially understanding, honesty and reliability. 

Most important of all, I look for understanding in a friend. A good friend tries to understand how another person is feeling. He is not quick to judge. Instead, he tries to learn from others. He puts himself in the other person's place, and he tries to think of ways to be helpful. He is also a good listener. 

At the same time, however, a good friend is honest. He does not look for faults in others. He notices their good points. In short, a friend will try to understand me and accept me. 

Another quality of a friend is reliability. I can always depend on a good friend. If he tells me he will meet me somewhere at a certain time, I can be sure that he will be there. If I need a favor, he will do his best to help me. If I am in trouble, he will not run away from me. 

There is a fourth quality that makes a friend special. A special friend is someone with whom we can have fun. We should enjoy our lives, and we will enjoy our friendship. That is why I especially like friends who are fun to be with. A good friend likes the same things I like. We share experience and learn from each other. A good friend hasa good sense of humor, too. He likes to laugh with me. That is how we share in the joy of being friends. And I know that he is looking for the same quality in me. 

When I meet someone who is reliable, honest and understanding, I know I've found a friend. 

①Kids spend a lot of time on homework. Some people think that too much homework is necessary and helpful, because homework helps students practice what is taught in class. Is that really right? 

②Statistics(统计数字） show that 33% of 14-year-old students report spending 2 hours or more on homework daily. Isn't that too much? As a 9th-grade student, I have thousands of assignments(任务) every week. As a result, I'm busy with homework every day. More often than not, I have to stay up until really late, doing my homework. Certainly, this is harmful to my health as a developing teenager. Too much homework results in less sleep, more stress and having a bad influence on my school performance because everyone knows that no good sleep leads to no good grades. 

③So why do teenagers have so much homework? One of the answers is that teachers often have children cover materials at home by themselves that they do not discuss during school time at all. The teacher's reason is that there aren't enough hours in the day and he/ she wants students to learn more. But being taught how to do something by a piece of paper just isn't the same as being taught by an actual human being. The teacher can explain things in a different way if a student doesn't understand how to do something, but homework can't! When it comes to getting knowledge, it is the teacher rather than homework that counts. 

④Statistics even show that kids who take part in an extra-curricular(课外的) activity have less stress. The only problem is that kids have less time for such extra-curricular activities. Homework takes away most of their free time to spend with friends and family. 

⑤ Too much homework can cause stress, depression(抑郁), lower grades, and less time to do extra-curricular activities or hang out with friends, so teachers, could you please not get so excited about homework next time?

I do volunteer work every Friday. A week ago, I had the pleasure of helping one sick lady. 

She is in her eighties and is very weak and I 1   bring her lunch on Fridays. She looked worried 2   she opened the door that day. She told me her phone was broken and that she couldnˈt receive the 3   from her doctor. She went to her 4   next doors, but they were not at home. She thought maybe the mailman could 5   her, but he didnˈt come.
