Have you ever heard the sound of a hummingbird? They make a buzzing noise when they fly. They make this noise because they beat their wings so fast. They beat their wings up to 80 times a second. All that flapping makes a lot of noise. That's why we call them hummingbirds. 

Hummingbirds fly in a unique way. They move their wings so fast that they can hover. This means that they can stay in one spot in the middle of the air, like a helicopter. Sometimes they fly upside down. They are the only bird that flies backward. 

Hummingbirds are small. One type called the bee hummingbird is the smallest bird in the world. Bee hummingbirds weigh less than a penny. They are just a little bit bigger than bees. I guess that's why they get their name. 

Hummingbirds move fast. It takes lots of energy to move as fast as they do. This means that they need to cat a lot of food. Their favorite food is nectar, a sweet liquid（液体）inside of some flowers. They drink more than their own weight of nectar daily. They have to visit hundreds of flowers to get enough nectar to live. 

Hummingbirds help flowers too. They get pollen（花粉）on their heads and bills（鸟嘴）when they feed. Flowers use pollen to make seeds. Hummingbirds help pollen get from one flower to the next. This helps flowers make more seeds. More seeds mean more flowers. More flowers mean more food for hummingbirds. lsn't it nice how that works out?

Schools in Nanshan District are exploring how to make use of their libraries to better meet residents'reading needs. The district views making primary and secondary school libraries open to the public as a major way to enhance people's well-being, which mainly aims to make better use of library resource, promoting the sharing of reading resources, enhancing family-school interaction, and creating a learning community. 

Nowadays, there are 103 libraries in public and private primary and secondary schools in Nanshan, including 89 in public schools and 14 in private schools, according to data from Nanshan District Education Bureau. 69 public schools in Nanshan have made their libraries public during non-teaching hours, while the remaining schools are either experiencing renovation（翻新）and expansion, or are preparing to open their libraries to the public. To fully meet the reading needs of students, parents, and other people in community, the school libraries in Nanshan are open on weekends, holidays, and other non-teaching hours. 

"As a retired person who loves reading, opening school libraries to the public gives me access to more types of books, especially those professional books that are not easily available on the market, and also provides me with a platform（平台）for exchanging ideas with young people, " Yang, a retired elder man, said. 

Yang also enjoys the quiet environment that libraries offer. "It provides me with an ideal place to stay away from family chores and focus on reading. "

At present, the public can make an appointment（预约）with nearby school libraries through the WeChat account"南山文体通"(NSWTT), and can also make a survey about the book collection of each school through the WeChat account. 

When answering the phone, it's important for you to have polite and friendly manners. But do you know how to answer the phone properly?

After picking up the phone, greet the person politely first. If you don't know who is calling, you can first say"Hello" and give your name. Once the caller has introduced himself or herself, you can address（称呼）the caller properly and say something like"Hi, Tom! How are you today?"

 If you' re having some food, you can answer the phone later. In fact, you shouldn't speak with your mouth full at any time. 

Robots seem very new to some people. But in fact they have  long history. The first robot was made by a Greek inventor. You may often see robots in lots of  (movie) . The robots are stronger, faster and  (intelligent) than people. 

In real life, most robots are used in factories. They are used  (do) many dangerous, difficult or boring jobs. Some people can't look after themselves but robots can help them. For example, some blind people use dogs to help themselves move around. These dogs  (call) guide dogs. Scientists are making robots to help them. They  (confident) believe that robot dogs will take the place of these guide dogs one day. 

Using robots  (be) also common in American hospitals. At one hospital, -a robot takes meals from kitchen  the sick people's rooms. It never loses its way  it has a map of the hospital in its computer system. 

In the future. robots will work in space. Robots will never take the place of humans, though they can help (we) in a lot of different ways. Let's look forward to the rapid development of robots.
