Here is the story of a special plant. Because of this plant, the population at that time increased a lot. 

Long ago, there was a man named Chen Zhenlong and he was born in Fujian. Then he went to Luzon island for work. There were many waterways to Luzon, So he took a boat to get there. In Luzon, Chen found that the local people ate sweet potatoes, and they could easily plant them. He wanted to bring the sweet potatoes back to his hometown, because they might change the situation of the food shortage(短缺). But it was not an easy thing. Chen was learning how to grow sweet potatoes while he was thinking about how to bring them back. One day he put a potatoes vine(藤) into the absorbent rope(吸水绳) and then brought it back to his hometown. After getting home , Chen began to plant sweet potatoes and finally he was successful. 

The weather was bad in Fujian and many people didn' t have enough food. Chen told the government that the sweet potatoes could help people. So the government let people plant sweet potatoes. After that, the sweet potatoes became a common plant in China. At that time, 85% of the people depended on sweet potatoes for food. People then had enough food and the population increased quickly. 

Mr. Wang once worked in an emergent(急救) center. He wrote reports every day and the following are four reports from him.

What Jobs Are We Going to Need?

 People have to work. They need jobs. What fields have jobs? The most important thing is that we need to know what jobs (need) in the future?

 The medical field is going to need (work). In 2010, there were 524 million people over the age of 65 in the world. In 2050, the number of older people will be three times(big) than before. We need nurses and other medical workers to care for them. We also need family doctors. Family doctors have to work for many (hour). Because of this, not very many medical students study to be family doctors. In addition, there are jobs for medical researchers. They do research and develop new medicine and technology (help) people. Businesses want to sell this medicine and technology to people  need them.

 Another popular field is the computer field. It is a field with different kinds of jobs. Some people, like IT managers, help people in schools, hospitals, and companies  they have computer problems. Other people design and create new technology. For example, 20 percent of people in the world have   smartphone. This is a phone that can do the same things computers do. More and more people (use) technology, so businesses are always designing newer computers and phones (quick).

 What do these jobs have in common? People need the help of these workers. This is why these fields are growing. When there is a need, there is a job.

 Paper was created by Cai Lun about AD 105. Before the (发明) of paper, people wrote words on leaves, animal skins or rocks. In ancient China, people used bamboo strips(竹简) to (记录) important events but they were very heavy and took up a lot of space. Later. Chinese people created a kind of paper which was made of silk. This kind of paper was too expensive to be widely used. After years of hard work, Cai Lun (设法做成) to make paper by using pieces of old cloth, fishing nets and other materials. After he made it, paper started to(传播) from China to other places. With paper, people could write down more things and share ideas more easily. It made learning and teaching much (有影响力的).

 Anyway, if you love what you do and you want to keep getting better at doing it, allow yourself to find out what you need to make friends with your nerves, it is such a frightening word as it sounds.

 When you look into the mirror, you may wonder whether it is possible for us to have a twin self who can do lots of challenging things for us, like the difficult project to be finished ahead. Now with the invention of digital twins, it seems possible.

A digital twin is a copy of things like the products or persons in the online forms. Like humans,    a digital twin can also develop itself as long as they are fed with enough data(数据).

 Another successful example is to use the digital twin to change the sports science to some degree. Compared with the past when the coaches needed to set up a program to help train the sportspersons, they now use the data to build the digital twin to help the athletes to improve their skills and avoid accidents in sports.

 Not everything about the digital twin is good. It is clear that the new technology will influence us a lot, but what direction it will take in the future remains to be seen. There are some doubts over it, as it will result in problems related to ethical(道德的) consideration.

 The speeches that the winners make are often rather boring, as they' re usually just a list of people they want (thank). The winners often get very excited— sometimes  can be almost impossible to understand what they are saying!

 Emma dreamed of writing a (小说). She had some ideas but wasn't sure how to begin. She imagined a story where characters would (对待) each other with kindness and respect.

 At the (中心的) part of her story, she planned to show how friends support each other. She wisely decided to (避免) making everything too easy for her characters. She wanted to(划分) the story into chapters(章节), each showing different moments of life.

Emma hoped to show that there is always hope and (大量) of love around. She believed her book would be (广泛地) enjoyed by readers looking for encouragement.

One day, a boy found some seeds(种子) and asked, " seeds are these?" He looked around but saw no one. He planted them in his garden, but they didn't grow.

 Later, he asked the old farmer, who  said, "You planted them  . You should know when the right  are for planting."

 The boy learned from the farmer and decided to work on his  chores in the garden, hoping to see the seeds grow next time.
