My parents took me to Japan when I was little. I lived there for five years. When I came back, my Japanese was very good. "Can I do something  (use) with my Japanese?" I asked myself.

Do you feel lonely when your best friend isn't around? It can be tough, but don't worry. There are ways to deal with it. . 

It's hard when a best friend isn't around—maybe because he or she moved to a different school or a different class. You may feel left out during break (间歇) or lunchtime. You want to make new friends, but how do you find them? Maybe it seems like everybody else already has his or her own friends. But remember, there's always room for more friends. 

—think about which kids you'd like to play with during break. Look for chances to say hi to them, smile, and be friendly. Offer (主动提出) to share something or express your appreciation (欣赏) to them. Invite someone to play with you or say "Do you want to sit here?" in the lunchroom. When you're at break, walk over to kids you want to play with, act friendly, and say "Hi, may I join you?" or just join in.

If you have trouble doing this or if you're feeling shy, ask your teacher to help you make new friends. Teachers are usually pretty good at matching people up. . Being kind, being friendly, sharing, saying nice things, offering help—soon, you'll have one, or two, or even more new friends. 

You might still miss that special best friend. But when you see each other again, you can share something you didn't have before he or she left: !

In 2024, Fan Zhendong had great achievements(成就) in table tennis at the Olympics.

In many cartoon stories, animals are like humans. They can talk and have human feelings. Famous cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse, Tom and Jerry, and Garfield are very popular around the world.

The star among the cartoon characters must be Mickey Mouse. The famous mouse was created in 1928 by Walt Disney and is probably the most famous mouse in the world now. He has appeared in different cartoons and even video games. This famous Disney character is a cute little mouse with surprising ability (能力). 

Another famous pair of cartoon characters is Tom and Jerry. Jerry can be called the most famous mouse after Mickey Mouse and Tom is as famous as another cat Garfield. The famous cartoon makers, William Hana and Joseph Barbera, created the two characters in 1940. About 110 short films about Tom and Jerry were produced between 1940 and 1957. Till now, the young and the old all over the world still like these movies.

Garfield is also very popular. The famous cat was born in the kitchen of Mamma Leoni's Italian restaurant in 1978. His funny action with his careless owner on Arbuckle, and his best friend, a dog called Odie, brought daily laughs to millions of newspaper readers worldwide.

South Korean Vacation

Last Monday, Soobin got a surprise text message from Klara. She is Soobin's German online friend, She was visiting Seoul (首尔) with her family!

Soobin replied. Soobin waited for Klara's reply and thought of things to do.

In China, the 12th month of the lunar calendar (阴历) is called layue. The month is full of interesting festivals and customs. Laba Festival, which falls on the eighth day of layue, is the first festival in this month. 59.  从这天起，人们开始为中国的新年做准备。 On Laba Festival, people eat hot Laba porridge.

China has a long history. Many stories are hidden in ancient books. One of these books

Shan Hai Jing talks about many things. It talks about more than 550 mountains and 300 waterways. There are stories of 400 mythical creatures (神怪异兽), . The book has about 31,000 Chinese characters. There are some oldest stories about how the world  (begin). One story is about the Great Pangu. He created the world. There are also stories about Nu Wa. She repaired the sky. Another story is about a great person—Kua Fu. He tried (run) after the sun. 

The book is like bridge from the past to today. The stories have been passed down from parents to  (child) in China for many, many years.
