I live in Leeds in the UK.Last month, I went to London for two nights.I travelled by train, which was fast and convenient.I stayed in a hotel near the Tower of London, arriving on Monday afternoon and leaving on Wednesday afternoon.

My first visit was to the Tower of London, where I saw the Crown Jewels and learnt about its dark history as the execution(处决) site of Anne Boleyn.At the British Museum, I hoped to see the Elgin Marbles—ancient Greek sculptures brought from Athens in 1816.Though the Elgin Marbles rooms were closed, there were many other interesting exhibits to explore.

In the evening, I dined at a restaurant near Tower Bridge and enjoyed traditional fish and chips.I also watched The Windsors, a comedy show about the royal family, but left early as it wasn't to my taste.The weather was perfect for walking along the Thames, where I discovered various famous sites.

What impressed me most about London was how the old and new mix together, from Roman remains to modern buildings.The people were friendly, and I hope to return soon.

Planning can also make sure you see all the attractions.Before you go travelling, you usually make  list of places that you would like to see.Some attractions might only be open  certain days or during certain hours.Some might need you to make a booking.With a plan, you will not miss any of (they).

Not to Plan

With no plan, you have much freedom(自由).You can change your routes at the drop of a hat! You can do anything and go anywhere with anyone you want at any time! You will be happy (get) surprises during your trip.With no plan, nothing can go wrong.So you don't have to worry when a bus doesn't come on time, or when you get on the wrong train.Just relax and go with the flow.

There is no right 8  wrong way to travel with a plan or not.It is all about (find) the right balance(平衡) between the two and finding out which one works (well) for you.
