My Collection—Postcards

My hobby is collecting postcards.I have a collection of over 200 postcards from various places.

I started collecting them when I was 10.During a family trip, I bought a few postcards as souvenirs.Since then, I have been adding to my collection by b postcards from different cities I visit, receiving them from friends and family who travel, and sometimes exchanging them with other c .My collection i postcards with beautiful landscapes, famous landmarks, and unique artworks.My favourite one is a postcard with an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower.

Collecting postcards is r meaningful to me.It allows me to explore different places without leaving home.Each postcard holds a memory of a particular place or moment.It also connects me with friends and family who share my passion.Through postcards, I can e the beauty and diversity(多样性) of the world.

I think that a great friend is a great artist who can change my feeling about life greatly. 

When I was in my university, one of my classmates named Han Wen sat beside me.He was good at study and handsome.Everyone knew that he was a genius in my university.

 But he didn't like others to praise him, because he thought what he did was common.I remember that my Maths was not so good at that time, but he was excellent at solving Maths questions.He was patient and polite to answer my Maths questions. I passed the examination finally.

We know that we live in society, so we need a lot of friends. Bad friends may make our life fail, while good ones make our life successful.To me, Han Wen is a very good friend.I learnt so much from him.

The Chinese character for"fish", written in the traditional form, is"魚".The pronunciation of fish in Chinese, "yu", sounds like a character that means"plenty".Thus, fish becomes a symbol of victory in Chinese culture.There is an idiom"Every year we' ll have enough things to spend", which means"to have a spare every year".During the Spring Festival, for example, fish is often left uneaten.The reason is that the uneaten fish is meant to represent the humans' hopes of having something left over for the next year.

Fish can also represent long life, which comes from the fact that fish are able to grow really old.At the same time, fish are also the representation of unity, which comes from the fact that fish often swim in pairs.This is also the reason why the fish charms used in jewellery are often in pairs.

The fish is also a common symbol in Chinese literature.For example, the carp(鲤鱼) that were able to jump over the waterfall at the Loong Gate(Longmen) would change into loongs.The image of a carp jumping over the Loong Gate is an old and lasting Chinese cultural symbol for courage, perseverance(坚持不懈) and achievement.

In fact, each spring, carp gathered in great numbers in the pool at the base of the waterfall, but very few actually made the jump.It has become a common saying in China that a student facing the college entrance examination is like a carp trying to jump over the Loong Gate.

With the symbolism of good luck, fish, especially koi fish(锦鲤), have always been a common object in Chinese art.You can also often find fish art on Chinese ceramics(陶器), such as teapots, cups, jars and plates.

The Silk Road has been an important way of connecting the East and West since the Han dynasty about 2,000 years ago.Its name is from the great trade in Chinese silk carried along the route.It is meaningful for trade and culture.It helps the cities and towns along it develop faster.

Cheng Yaodong, a part-time tourist guide of Liupanshan, has told hundreds of tourists about the history and folklore(民俗) of Xiaoguan Pass in Liupanshan Mountain.He also likes to present tourists with ancient poems on the subject of Xiaoguan Pass.These poems told stories of the homesickness of the soldiers, the eagerness of the merchants(商人) to return home and the beauty of the scenery.

In 2005, a park modelled after the ancient Xiaoguan Pass was built 36 kilometres south of Guyuan City, where tens of thousands of visitors have left their footprints ever since.About 55 km north of Guyuan City lies another Silk Road tourist attraction, the Xumishan Grottoes(石窟).Located on the northern road of the eastern section of the ancient Silk Road, the Xumishan Grottoes is one of China's top ten grotto sites.It was listed by the World Monuments Fund as one of the 100 most endangered architectural and cultural sites in the world.

By popularizing(普及) the ancient Silk Road culture, the local tourism and economy have developed much faster than before.
