I knew I would have a beyond-busy summer. I was set to be a junior teacher for the Little Dragons Karate Camp, and I had also joined the summer swim team. But there was more; Ollie and I had just launched our dog-walking business, and we already had a couple of clients lined up.

"You might be biting off more than you can chew," my mom said with a warning glance when I shared my plans, adding, "I want to do everything!"

"Don't worry," I replied with a grin. "I have strong teeth!"

My mom smiled back. "In this case, it's your organizational skills, not your teeth, that need to be strong." I brushed off her concern.

The first week was surprisingly manageable. With Ollie away and the karate camp still on the horizon, I only had my swimming gear to worry about. The second week was equally smooth. I swam and even received a compliment from a Little Dragon at the karate camp, who declared me his favorite teacher.

However, I soon realized that juggling two activities was more challenging. My backpack was already full with swim gear, so I needed a separate one for my karate attire. Navigating from the karate camp to the pool with two backpacks was no easy feat, but I was still in control—until Ollie returned.

"We're behind on our business preparations!" he exclaimed. "We need to use every spare minute to get things in order."

"But I don't have any spare minutes!" I protested.

"Did you forget we agreed to walk Alfie every Saturday and Muffin on Tuesdays at 4:00?" Ollie reminded me. I couldn't let him down, so I procured a third backpack, filling it with dog toys, treats, and plastic bags. I thought I had everything figured out.

But I was mistaken. It didn't take long for the chaos to ensue. My belongings for dog-walking, karate, and swimming were soon a tangled mess, often forgotten or misplaced. One day, I left my karate backpack behind and had to borrow an ill-fitting outfit from Emma. The next, I remembered my karate gear but neglected my swimsuit, forcing me to spend the afternoon assisting at the snack shop instead of swimming. And on another occasion, when I reached into my dog-walking backpack for plastic bags, all I found were misplaced swim goggles and sunscreen.

As the summer days grew hotter, the pressure mounted. I was determined to excel in all my commitments, but the mounting disarray threatened to unravel my carefully laid plans. Little did I know, a twist of fate was just around the corner, one that would challenge my resolve and force me to reevaluate my priorities. But that's a story for another day...
