Alex is my pen friend. He is twelve years old. He is from Canada. Now he lives in Ottawa. He can speak both English and French. His favourite subject is Science. He likes Chinese, too. And he says he can also speak a little Chinese. But he can't write in Chinese. He doesn't like PE. He thinks it's too boring. He can't run fast, either. He always feels tired after PE classes.

Alex likes Science very much. He usually goes to the Science Centre at the weekend or reads some books about science at home. Sometimes he sees a science fiction film. Alex has a big family. There are nine people in his family. They are his grandpa, grandma, father,mother, brothers, sisters and him. He has two brothers and two sisters. What a happy family!

A long time ago, there was a very large forest. Some monkeys arrived at the forest and they tried hard to survive(存活) the freezing cold nights. They looked for fire to get warm.

One night, they saw a firefly. All the monkeys shouted, "Fire! Fire! Fire! Yeah, we get fire!" A few monkeys tried to catch the firefly but it flew away. The next night, again they saw many fireflies. Luckily, the monkeys caught a few fireflies. They blew the fireflies very hard without knowing that they were fireflies! An owl was watching the activities of the monkeys.The owl told them, "Hey, those are not fire! They are fireflies." The monkeys laughed at the owl. One monkey replied, "Hey, you don't know anything about how to make a fire. Don't disturb us!" The owl told them again to stop their act. "Stay in a nearby cave. You can keep warm there!" One monkey shouted at the owl and the owl left the place. The monkeys were just doing the foolish activity for several days. They were very tired and began to know what the owl said was right. These monkeys went to the cave in the end.

One day, I saw some little, black fish in a pond. My mother gave me a bowl, and told me to 1 a few. There were so many fish and they were 2 to catch. When I got home, my mother put the fish in an old fish bowl. She just asked me to  3 and see. I watched my fish carefully. After a few weeks, I found my fish 4 . They had legs. She told me to keep watching. A week later, she came and told me that a (n) 5 was very close. When I went home from school, I found a frog on my bed. Then I take it back to the pond.
